The rules summarised here are national; local restrictions (including Article 4 directions and conditions attached to past planning permissions) can change the position at an individual address, and lease terms are unique to each building.
Where our checker reports "no restrictions found", that means no blocking restriction was found in the named public datasets on the date shown — it is not a confirmation that no permission is required. For written certainty, apply to your borough for a Lawful Development Certificate before carrying out work. Always confirm the position with your local planning authority, your freeholder or landlord, and where appropriate a planning professional, before spending money.
